“You don’t fight racism with racism. The best way to fight racism is with solidarity” — Bobby Seale

We live in a society where people live in fear just because of their skin color. Where people are treated differently because of how they look. This must change. The Solidarity Cowl symbolizes that we as a society need to focus on the Black community with the white community being in the background supporting, listening, and “standing in the gap.”

If more of us stand in the gap together, true and meaningful change can and will happen.

50% of all pattern proceeds will be donated to the NFC Momentum Fund, an organization started by Karida of Neighborhood Fiber Co. The Fund is designed to make grants to organizations that are working to mitigate the effects of systemic racism and support the world’s most vulnerable populations, with a focus on Black-led organizations in Baltimore City.

An intermediate pattern knit in the round using fisherman ribbing and tuck stitches. Photo and video tutorials included.
